Finally! The star shot I always wanted…..

Posted on October 3rd, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

I have always wanted to take a photo of the night sky that actually did it justice. While on location in Chapell Hill, TX, I realized I was on top of a hill on a beautiful clear night. My eyes look up – the stars are vivid and amazing. I’ve always wanted to see and photograph Aurora Borealis, but felt…

HAR update – Higher Resolution Images Now Accepted in Tempo

Posted on September 4th, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

One of the key enhancements that was introduced in the August 2010 publish for Tempo was an increase in the dimensions of images uploaded into Tempo from 640×480 to 1024×768 pixels. This means that agents can now upload images almost 100% larger than before. Please note: The file size restriction of 700KB is still in place.

Peepers!

Posted on August 4th, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

Meet Peepers the cat. She’s a Scottish Folded.

I was photographing the house she lives in – she was very curious about me. She would follow me into each room, staring up with those inquiring yellow eyes. I would bend down to pet her and she would purr like a motorboat. As I was leaving, she put both paws…

Shany Cosmetics

Posted on August 1st, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

By Houston Wedding Photographer Starlight Images

Some photographers find product photography tedious. I find it FUN! How else would I get to arrange things in such specific shapes?! (by the way, had to turn the AC off so it would not blow the brushes out of place) Tedious?
About Shany:

Every Shany product is chemical free and hand selected…

Fleming’s BBQ Shrimp

Posted on July 6th, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

By Houston Wedding Photographer Starlight Images

Wow – Fleming’s BBQ Shrimp was actually more fun to eat than photograph! (one of the benefits of shooting food) I knew they had a great selection of steak and wine but never thought to venture out into other parts of their menu – Maeve Pesquera at Fleming’s River Oaks is ready to…

The Black Widow

Posted on July 3rd, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

So I was backpacking on the Lone Star Trail and set up camp in a nice spot. I placed my hat on top of a stump and went about my business. The next morning, as I was getting ready to move on, I pick up my hat, and before PLACING IT ON MY HEAD, I decided to look:…

The Death of a Bougainvillea

Posted on July 3rd, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

I don’t have a pretty picture of my Bougainvillea to show you. It’s leafless and bare – a victim of Houston’s winter storm. I never covered up my plants for a hard freeze before, saying something like, “survival of the fittest” to myself. Even if I had learned that yes, a hard freeze will indeed kill your plants, I wouldn’t…

The Cat & the Squirrel

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

During a recent engagement session at Hermann Park, my clients and I came across a black cat in “stalk” mode. It’s always interesting watching a cat do this, moving without moving in a way….This cat being black, was hidden in the shadows very well. We decided to stick around and see how this played out, not expecting what was about…

The Fun Job

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by Houston Wedding Photographer

I was asked by a client if I had any photos of Houston’s beautiful skyline laying around. Since I didn’t I suggested they check stock photography for their needs, or hire me! Well, after a day of what I expect was unsuccessful or out of budget searching, I got the call. It’s one thing to get paid to do what…
