Our photographic philosophy is simple – capture people at their best. Portray real people showing real emotions. A bride and groom place great trust in their wedding photographer when they invite him into one of the most intimate and personal days of their life. They task him with capturing images of themselves and their loved ones as they experience the height of emotions, and we very much enjoy fulfilling that commission.
Environmental Engagement Sessions*: We really love these! High energy. Fun. Fresh. Spontaneous. Unique. Your individual personalities come shining through. In our minds, the purpose of the engagement session is to capture the interaction between the bride-to-be and future groom. The engagement photos build anticipation for the wedding day by showing the happy couple at their best. The environment also adds to the image – well known landmarks or locations with personal meaning (coffee shop where you first met, doorway of your first kiss, etc.) make these photos distinctive and fun.
Environmental Bridal Sessions: Similar to the Engagement Session, the environmental bridal session is meant to bring out the individual personality of the bride in a format that is less formal than a studio bridal session. The mood of these images can range from calm and introspective to wild and crazy (not too crazy…we’re going to need that dress again soon).
Studio Engagement or Bridal Sessions: This is where fine art is made. Time-honored principles of portrait photography are applied in-studio to create a beautiful image that will be cherished for generations.
The Wedding Day: First and foremost, we cover the events of the day. There are certain shots that must be taken in order to tell the story of your wedding day, and we take great care to capture these moments in the best way possible. Secondly, we strive to provide unique, artistic images from your wedding day. We will always have a few posed, artistic shots in mind specific to the venue, and we are constantly on the lookout for great candid shots of people enjoying the day. We believe that this artistic vision sets us apart and qualifies us to capture the essence of your wedding.
* There are generally two types of photo shoots, Studio and “not-Studio.” “Not-Studio” shoots are often referred to as “Environmental” since they include elements of the location (“environment”) where the shoot is taking place.
